If I were to tell my ten-year-old self – who is totally obsessed with movies and the idea of flying – that I would become a filmmaker and a drone pilot, I swear that little pip-squeak would have done a backflip in joy. My name is Craig Gouweloos. I'm twenty-six years-old and filmmaking is my purpose. Telling stories that have never been told before through of the medium of film and sound is an incredible and humbling experience. Let me help you tell your story.
Documenting travel, for me, is all about capturing the memory and the essence of the places I've been. Photos are great, but being able to string along the bits and pieces of the whole adventure into a concise and almost tangible experience - as if the viewer can feel themselves there in that moment - is what inspires me.
It goes without saying that weddings are a very intimate and important day for a couple. I prefer to capture the candid and real moments - the ones that you may forget between the photographs, but will be glad you'll remember.
Growing up in the snowboarding world, capturing the action was a big part of the sport and kicked-off my love for filmmaking. As a professional snowboarder, I've had the opportunity to work with high profile athletes all over the world, creating some of the best quality content available in this industry.
Drones have completely revolutionized the way we are able to create and capture content in the modern age, bringing the viewer experience from average to epic. Filming this way has been a huge passion of mine and I am proud to be UAV Ground School Certified, allowing me to shoot commercially and insured.
Working with brands has been an exciting part of my career, and with advertising through social media holding such a large space in the marketing industry these days, I'm proud to have this experience under my belt. I enjoy the challenge of working within the parameters set out by the brand and thrive on exceeding expectations.
While working with SCOREgolf on TSN, I was able to diversify my skills into TV production and directing. It was fascinating to see an idea be brought to fruition and capture each part of the process.
